Carbon Emission,

The Clocks a Tick’n.

Dooms Day Clock is currently at 90 seconds (1 minute, 30 seconds) before midnight. The best way to start helping is to educate yourself on the key issues affecting this time limit.

It only takes 1 walk instead of a drive to a short destination to start your journey to saving our home.

Change

In 2021, the UK alone produced 427 MtCO2e of GHG emissions, up 5% from 2020. Transport was responsible for 109 MtCO2e.

Electric & Hybrid Cars

Electric cars are non gas-powered vehicles. They dont rely on fossile fuels in order to operate. Electric vehicles (EVs) do not require internal combustion engines to operate, and they get their power from renewable energy souces. They run on batteries rather than fuel.

Fossil Fuel Vehicles

Fossil fuels are  is a non-renewable energy source such as coal, natural gas, derived gas, crude oil, petroleum products and non-renewable wastes. These fuels originate from plants and animals that existed millions of years ago.

About Us

Our Mission & Vision

We want to educate the world, (not just the United Kingdom) on the difference people like you and me can have on the world and the Impact we can make by switching to alternative transport methods and even decreasing the amount of short journeys we take in our person vehicles. Dont Forget Avoiding just 10 miles of driving every week would eliminate about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year!

Walking or Cycling

Walking is one of the lowest carbon ways to travel however if the distance is too far on foot, why not take up a new hobby like cycling. its also a low form of carbon travel and its healthy for both you and our Planet.

Train/Public Transport

If cycling just wont do, the next best thing is public transport. Trains are a considerably low-carbon way to travel. In fact taking a train instead of a car for medium-length distances would cut your emissions by around 80%.

Motor Vehicle

If walking and public transport don’t appeal to you, the next best thing would be electric vehicles. Offering emissions less than that of a petrol of diesel car.

Lowering our Carbon Footprint

What We Can Do

There are many things We can do to Lower our own carbon footprint and help slow down if not reverse some major consiquences of Carbon emissions.

Buy Local

By buying local you don’t have to travel far which cuts down on carbon emmision, especially if you can walk instead. Buying local and eating more plant based foods also means agriculture greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced as food has less distance to travel in order to be sold.

Change How You Travel

By cuting down multiple short trips in the car and walking or doing 1 major shop each week rather than smaller more frequent ones then you can save not only your gas bill but help contribute to the healing of our Planet.

Reuse and Recycle

In order to reach predicted emission targets household waste needs to decrease by 33% by 2037. This is why you see so many sites like vinted popping up at the moment. Its not just recycling than can help but upcycling too.

Change Your Energy

Energy used in buildings accounts for around 17% of total emissions therefore changing your energy supllier or switching to more ecofriendly light bulbs can not only save you money but save time for our planet sustain itself better.

Here’s What Amy Seidl Has to Say

“By planting rye I am creating carbon sinks in my backyard, expanding my role in the carbon cycle, launching my own backyard campaign to offset global warming. My emissions, after all, reflect a rural but very comfortable life in which I enjoy goods that travel great distances – clementines from Spain, wine from California – and on the occasional holiday I fly south, seeking warmer places. Will planting rye in the shoulder seasons be enough to make a difference? Certainly not, but it is a gesture, a way to frame the question and provide a benchmark to judge the extent of my complicity.”

Support Us

The Leading Cause of Carbon Emissions in the UK.

The Leading cause of Carbon Dioxide Emissions in the United Kingdom is Transport. closely followed by Energy suppliers then businesses.

That is why The main focus of this website is on Transportation and something that everyone can contribute to to help change for the better.

Transportation

The above is a graph showing the different sectors and how much percentage they contribute to the production of Carbon Dioxide emissions.
As you can see Domestic travel is a major cause of concern when it comes to the UK and our carbon emission. It’s almost double that of the Residential sector.

“The richest 1 per cent of the world’s population are responsible for more than twice as much carbon pollution as the people who make up the poorest half of humanity.”
― Greta Thunberg, The Climate Book: The Facts and the Solutions

Renewable Energy

Steming from our topic of fossil fuels and electric cars. I want to further highlight energy alternatives to keep an eye out and give your suport.

Renewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. This means it is also easier to collect than fossil fuels. Starting with pedal power in the 1900’s, weve now moved onto some more advanced renewable energy sorces such a Sunlight and wind. Both are energy sources that are constantly being replenished. Renewable energy sources are nowwidely accessible and all around us.
